PFL Gala Brings Bourbon Street to PV

by Sabina Merchant

Peninsula Friends of the Library (PFL) held their annual fundraising gala on Saturday, March 9th. This year’s theme was “A Night on Bourbon Street.” Donna Peters with PV Party Elf, Kaaren Lee, and the gala committee transformed the Peninsula Center Library into a brightly-festive Bourbon Street. The talented Peninsula High Jazz Trio rolled out familiar tunes while guests mingled, sipped on signature Hurricane drinks, had their tarot cards read, and got their pictures taken at Bourbon Street-themed booths.

Guests were adorned with colorful Mardi Gras beads, and the Jazz Trio led them into the dining room, playing “When the Saints Come Marching In.” PFL President Ron DeFrees kicked off dinner by thanking the sponsors, members, and organizers for putting on such a creative and lively event. The fabulous Original New Orleans Band entertained guests while they enjoyed a New Orleans dinner served family style, complete with King Cakes and beignets. The sit-down meal was catered by Primal Alchemy, from Long Beach.

The PFL Board would like to thank all the sponsors, guests, members, and Lifetime members for their generosity. You helped us exceed our fundraising goals. All proceeds from the gala go directly towards library programs and services. Check out the rest of the pictures in the Gallery:
