New Annex to be Built on the Pen Center Roof

Annex news update:
WE ARE ALMOST THERE!

What better investment can we make than providing a gathering place that provides a space unique to teens? A place designed by the teens themselves! What better return on your investment can you get than a well-adjusted, happy, teen ready to face the future challenges of life itself!

As you may know, PVLD will begin construction on a teen Annex soon! This important project, to be located at the main library, furthers our commitment to have a library as a community gathering place.  Thanks to the many generous citizens in our community, we have raised almost enough money to make this dream come true. But we still need some help. Please considering donating to the Annex to put us over the top and become a member of the Peninsula Friends of the Library!

This dedicated space, to be located in the present upper parking lot (on the roof) at the Peninsula Center library, will serve as a welcoming and supervised intimate space for teens to study, converse, enhance computer skills, craft projects, or just “hang out.” During school hours the space will be available for library community group meetings and events. However, the Annex will focus on the wants and needs of our teens and will incorporate computers, gaming stations, comfortable chairs and quiet study areas.

This is the only facility on the hill dedicated to teens. It doubles our present off site area and promises to be “the place” for middle and high school students, grades 6-12. We currently have three dedicated on site supervisors during the teen hours Monday – Friday from 3-7 pm, and this will continue in the new annex.

The primary funding for this Annex is provided  by the Peninsula Friends of the Library and we welcome your support.
