Yes, the holidays are coming and you want the perfect gift for everyone on your list, but not just the same old “stuff” you usually give. Why not visit the Peninsula Friends of the Library November used book sale at the Malaga Cove Library, 2400 Via Campesina in Palos Verdes Estates, California on Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.?
There you will find more than 25,000 DVDs, CDs, records and books on just about every subject and special books and media for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many items have been marked down from their prices at last month’s sale and there have been boxes and boxes of new books donated. . Browsers and buyers alike are invited to pause for some complimentary homemade goodies and a cup of coffee.
Credit cards will be accepted for purchases over $10.
This is also a perfect time to weed out your own collection of books and media and take advantage of the Friends charitable donation form in preparation for tax season next year. You can drop books off at any of the branch libraries, or call the number below to arrange a pick-up for large donations. In this season of Thanksgiving and gratitude, donating to your local library is one of many ways you can say thank you. The Friends book sales and several other activities provide the funds to keep many of the library’s important programs up and running.
